About Damayanti
I am a second year student of Sociology and Literary and Cultural Studies. I have spent almost all my time in high school and college exploring feminism through every subject I have learnt. In literature, I have analysed gender in my texts and written about feminism, in sociology, I have done research on gender discrimination, in Psychology I have done research on sexuality. I have worked part-time as a journalist and written articles about sexual harassment in the city. Outside of work and studies, I run a small feminist collective, and have done work with the feminist NGO Apne Aap.

My teaching method is based on feminist ideology and hence involves group sessions where we connect theory to our lived experiences. However, that is never enough, and I stress on lots of reading and writing, where we get to organise our thoughts and refine our arguments. This will be very important because we will be debunking a lot of common misconceptions about feminism and going beyond layperson concepts. At the same time, we will refine this based on individual interests and try to approach this through the skills of different disciplines.
