- What kind of experience do you have? We have been teaching privately since 2008. I teach Piano & Music Theory and my wife teaches Violin, Piano, Theory & GCSE Music. My wife is a former head of music in a secondary comprehensive school and has the experience and knowledge to help you pass your Music GCSE exams. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? We teach the Piano, Violin, Music Theory & GCSE - Tell me about your qualifications. BA (Hons) Theatre Studies, BA (Hons) Education - Music, Grade 8 Piano & Violin - How much do you charge? £12.50 per half hour, £22.50 per hour. Minimum booking of 4 weeks lessons paid in advance. Discounts are available for bookings of 12 weeks or more. T&C's Apply. - Where do you teach? We offer tutoring at our purpose built studio in Pengam, Blackwood. - When are you available? Monday to Friday 2pm - 9pm, Saturday 10am - 1pm, Sunday: Closed. We teach almost all year round. Usually we take time off over Christmas (2 weeks) and up to 2 weeks over the summer period. - Which ages and levels do you teach? 4 years old and above. No upper age limit! We teach all Grades from 1 - 8. We use ABRSM & Trinity. No need to do exams if you'd rather just learn for a hobby. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? My daughter (aged 7) has had Piano lessons with Maestro Music for a few months and I am amazed with how much she has progressed in such a short time. Leigh provides fun, friendly lessons, which incorporate practical and theory tuition.
He is a patient, positive and encouraging teacher and his enthusiasm has helped boost my daughter's confidence and excitement to want to learn more.
I would highly recommend Leigh to others for Piano tuition.Very professional teaching. My daughter loves her lessons and her teacher must have the patience of a saint with her, as she is an easily distracted 7 year old. Other music teachers who have heard her play the Violin say she has been taught very well.
Maestro Music have been first class from day one, relaxed and easy going, the learning style is superb.
The flexability on dates and times has been very helpful.My daughter has been having lessons with Leigh for about six months. She has made excellent progress and is already doing a grade exam. Leigh is very patient and a good teacher.
