About Gus
I am a 23 year Masters Student studying toward an MA in Legal and Political Theory at UCL. At the moment I live in the Brighton and Hove area. Philosophy, politics and sociology are subjects I'm intensely passionate about and each has massively impacted my worldview.
My tutoring philosophy is that every student will have a different way of seeing society, politics and philosophy and perhaps more importantly their relationship to others. It's important to me therefore that students come away from our sessions feeling secure in their own perspectives and that they can defend them with confidence to anyone, examiner and person in the street alike!

The typical duration of my lessons are 1 to 2 hours. My lessons are aimed at students studying toward their A Level Sociology qualification. My main method for teaching is communicating both techniques for examinations and engaging in broader conversations related to social, cultural and political context.
For my A levels I achieved an A* in Sociology.
What the student wants to get out of our time together and what I believe they need will inform the structure of the sessions and the guidance I offer. The most important thing for me is to create an atmosphere of fun and exploration where the student can develop their own perspectives on society.
Whether its working through past papers, closely reading a text or even just talking about current affairs I'm open to suggestions from my students as to how they feel they will make the most of our time together!
