About Damon
I started tutoring after completing my GCSEs to start funding for university. After finding a knack for teaching, I volunteered with a local school and now I'm starting to pursue the use of professional sites to advertise my services!
I have previous experience tutoring a mix of GCSE subjects from Geography to English, I've tutored primary schoolers as well, building upon their foundational skills across all subjects . I specialise in Maths and Physics (STEM) but I'm always open to specific requests!
I have a history of 5 students, of the 3 GCSE students, 3 attained A* - C grades

Having been through the student path in UK education, I relate to the many stresses and problems your everyday student may face. From difficulties absorbing information to ineffective forms of teaching, I aim to tackle these issues to provide meaningful education with what I know
I put focus on the type of learning (tactile, visual, auditory etc.) my students respond to best, in time creating a dynamic teaching method suited to the individual. My methodology starts by pinpointing the student's current progress in the subject curriculum, their grasp on each topic and any gaps in their knowledge. I introduce the material for the lesson, backtracking regularly to consolidate knowledge and cover the reasoning behind answers to prevent future mistakes. This is done with an assortment of materials, including past papers and brain teaser quizzes.
At the end of every lesson I'm keen on creating a feedback loop with the student to ascertain their understanding of the lesson and to also highlight areas to tackle next. I set small pieces of homework to consolidate the materials covered for a complete understanding of the topic
I tutor students encompassing Year 1 to Year 13, with strengths in handling children with a story-based entertaining education approach
