About Tom
I’m a Leeds College of Music BA (Hons) Jazz graduate and an experienced guitarist with over 20 years of playing and teaching. I’m passionate about helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for music. My background spans Jazz, Blues, and contemporary styles, and I have extensive experience preparing students for Grades 1–8 with Rockschool and Trinity College London. I teach all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced players, adapting my approach to suit each individual. Friendly, patient, and supportive, I aim to make every lesson enjoyable while helping you build solid skills and musical understanding.

My guitar lessons are tailored to suit each student’s goals, whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced player. I focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and practical, using real music to develop technique, rhythm, and confidence. With experience teaching Grades 1–8 (Rockschool and Trinity), I can guide you through exams or help you play for enjoyment. I also specialise in Contemporary, Jazz and Blues, covering improvisation, harmony, and phrasing in a clear, accessible way. Lessons are available in London or online, with a relaxed, supportive approach designed to help you progress and enjoy your playing.
