About Yusuf
I have lectured for 3 years at UCT. I have lectured, tutored and head-tutored for the University of Cape Towns School of Economics since 2013. My experiences of tutor coordinating, lecturing and holding the Commerce EDU economics assistant lecturer role in recent years has changed my perspective on my future career as I have enjoyed this responsibility and embraced the world of education. I enjoy the constantly changing environment of classroom, as it always requires you to innovate and adapt to the new breed of students and learning demands.

I believe that fear, courage and curiosity are the most prominent feelings present at the beginning of any economics course. A teacher’s love of learning can be infectious and inspiring to any student. I believe that being passionate about what you teach, understanding your students and using a non-traditional teaching approach is key to effective learning. My aim is to solidify UNDERSTANDING as opposed to just MEMORISING as this results in long-term success
