About Samuel
Samuel Ovalle is a violinist from Orlando, Florida who has performed across the United States, under the baton of highly acclaimed conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Eric Jacobsen, Robert Spano, Dongmin Kim, Carl St Clair, Kirt Mosier, Dr William Larue Jones, etc. He has performed in world-class venues across the country, including Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Steinmetz Hall, Festival Hill, Colburn School, Emory University, and the University of Southern California. Samuel has recently been accepted into and will be attending Roundtop Festival Institute over the summer, a highly prestigious orchestral program. Samuel was featured as a violinist in a music video filmed at Walt Disney World that has reached over 100 million views on YouTube. In January 2024, he was awarded a fellowship to attend Sphinx Organization’s SphinxConnect 2024 Conference: Amplify, the largest and longest-standing convening dedicated to diversity and inclusion in classical music. Samuel was a fellow in the LA Phil's YOLA National Institute cohort 2022-2023. This year-long program enabled access to music/career coaching, touring opportunities, audition financial assistance, and multiple residencies in Los Angeles throughout the year. As an El Sistema student, Samuel has a passion for accessible music education, volunteering at free tuition music programs and mentoring low-income/high-risk youth. Samuel is currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Violin Performance at Florida State University College of Music, under the tutelage of Dr Shannon Thomas. He performs regularly with the University Symphony Orchestra and serves as a substitute violinist of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. Samuel also maintains a private studio, teaching students of all levels. Outside of music, Samuel enjoys fishing, coffee, philosophy, and hanging out with his friends.

With over seven years of teaching experience and a background in mentoring young musicians through nonprofit organizations, I bring both skill and heart to every lesson. My approach is catered to each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style, whether you're picking up the violin for the first time or refining advanced technique. Teaching is a passion that deepens my own love for music every day. I believe in creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel confident, motivated, and excited to grow both as musicians and people.
