About Hema
As a regular yoga practitioner, I have been deeply involved in Yoga and yogic studies for the last seven years. I came across Yoga in 2015 after grappling with scoliosis and Anxiety disorder. Working on breathing and learning yoga asanas combined with yoga philosophy helped me get back on my feet. I haven't looked back since then, walking deeper into the yogic way of life with every passing year. My recovery to living life fully motivated me to become a yoga teacher. Helping others to reap the benefits of Yoga and find balance in whatever phase of life they might be in is my way of contributing back.

As a certified yoga teacher, I have taught Yoga to Team England during Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, performance athletes at Loughborough University and many others from all levels, backgrounds and age groups. I teach classical Hatha yoga inspired by the Sivananda tradition. The teachings emphasise all aspects of yoga intertwined with the yoga philosophy. My class provides a step-by-step approach to help build mind and body awareness to empower students on the path of self-practice. To keep it simple and accessible, the classes are one hour long and rely on a core sequence of 12 postures interspersed with periodic relaxation. A foundation built on these 12 basic poses enables the practice of advanced asanas for those students who want to grow deeper into their asana journey.

Perfect! As an absolute beginner at Yoga, Hema not only was able to gradually erase my anxiety about Yoga but more importantly made me feel better in my body, mind and soul. I am less stressed, sleep is better and I’d want to keep practicing more with her. I cannot thank Hema enough for embarking me on this journey and introducing me to Yoga.

I have attended Hema's yoga lessons. she is the most trust worthy and meticulous instructor I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by. I know her through climbing for nearly 5 years. Her passion for yoga is so inspiring. She has an eye for perfection. She is the most patient, warm and friendly instructor, makes her classes a joy to learn yoga in. With such an eye for different physicalities she individualises the yoga to be appropriately challenging. She doesn't rush with each asana's. She lets you learn and understand each pose in your own pace. I would recommend her a 100%.
I would highly recommend Hema, I am a beginner at yoga and she guided me through and explained clearly throughout the session. Hema was very patient with me when I would get stuck and explained what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. Really enjoyed my first yoga session and will definitely be continuing my yoga journey!!
