About Elena
Hello, students! I love languages and teaching! I am fluent in English, German, Russian, French, and Hindi. I have a conversational level of Bengali and Spanish and have just started learning Turkish.
At the moment, I am offering English, German, and Russian classes, which will include all aspects of language learning, such as speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Classes can also be catered to the individual needs of a student, i.e. conversational English, assignment help, German B1 level test preparations.
I have a BA from Whitman College, which is a liberal arts college in Walla Walla, WA, USA. I have taught English to Ethiopian refugees in the US. And I have taught German at the Goethe Institute (Max-Mueller Bhavan) in Kolkata. In total, I have 4 years of teaching experience. I am looking forward to sharing my love of languages with you and helping you learn!

I believe that with the right approach, dedication, and practice, anyone can learn languages. What is important to remember during the learning process, is that languages are not only some information to be memorised, but a beautiful tool for people to communicate with each other. Languages hold the key to culture, art, science, philosophy, etc. of different peoples and countries. To learn a language can be truly miraculous and life-changing.
Hence, I like to use as many different materials as possible: original short stories, songs, poems, art, vlogs, films, etc. during the teaching process. Learning a language should be engaging, inspiring, and fun.
Also, people learn in many different ways. Some students like to write everything down and some are visual learners. I like to get to know my students first and then offer lessons that would suit their preferred style of learning.
Since language requires a lot of practice, I like to encourage my students to express themselves as much as possible in the language they are learning, i.e. speaking and writing.
