About June
Hi, I’m a piano tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, combining academic training with practical experience across jazz, pop, and classical styles. I’ve been teaching for over 9 years and love helping students of all ages reach their musical goals.
My lessons focus on building strong technique, musical understanding, and expressive playing. I work with school-aged students on exam preparation, sight-reading, and theory, while also guiding adults who want to improve their skills or explore piano for fun.
I emphasize versatility, teaching students how to adapt their playing to different genres, develop rhythm and phrasing, and express emotion through music. Creativity and personal expression are always encouraged alongside technical mastery.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals, making learning structured, engaging, and enjoyable. I aim to inspire confidence, foster a love of music, and help every student unlock their full potential on the piano.

My piano lessons are designed to help students of all levels build strong technical skills, musical understanding, and creative confidence. I focus on proper technique, hand coordination, and finger strength while exploring different styles like jazz, pop, classical, and contemporary music. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether preparing for exams, performing, or composing original music.
I integrate music theory into every session, helping students understand scales, chords, and harmony to support both playing and improvisation. For those preparing for ABRSM, Rockschool, or A-Level exams, I follow the curriculum closely while adding personalized practice strategies. I also incorporate music history to give context to the pieces we learn, deepening appreciation and expression.
Creative skills are a key part of my approach. I guide students in composition, improvisation, and arranging, encouraging them to explore their own musical voice. I emphasize rhythm, phrasing, and dynamics to make performances expressive and engaging. Technology like metronomes, recording apps, and digital keyboards is used to track progress and refine skills.
Each lesson balances structured practice with fun, inspiring activities. I support students in excelling at challenging pieces while developing versatility across genres. My aim is to make piano learning enjoyable, comprehensive, and aligned with each student’s individual needs.
