About James
I’m a friendly and patient English conversation coach based in Vancouver, with over 11 years of experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. My role has involved communicating with people from all backgrounds every day, which has helped me develop strong listening skills, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to different personalities.
I specialize in helping students feel more confident speaking English in real-life situations—whether that’s at work, socially, or in everyday conversations. My approach is relaxed and practical, focusing on natural speech, pronunciation, and building confidence rather than memorization.
Outside of teaching, I’m very active and enjoy playing ice hockey, ball hockey, going to the gym, and occasionally basketball. I like to bring these interests into my sessions to keep conversations engaging and relevant.
My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students can improve quickly and start speaking English with more ease and confidence.
