About Dyon
Dyon Davidson is an educator, teaching artist, entrepreneur, and founder of Beadly Speaking Jewelry, a Baltimore-based creative wellness and entrepreneurship program. With more than 20 years of experience in education and jewelry making, Dyon uses creativity, jewelry design, journaling, and entrepreneurship to help youth and adults build confidence, reduce stress, and develop practical business skills.
Dyon holds a Bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Towson University. She has taught elementary education, adult basic education, personal finance, and jewelry making. Through Beadly Speaking, she has served hundreds of youth and community members through schools, libraries, summer camps, afterschool programs, and community workshops. She is also an experienced program developer and grant writer who has helped secure grant funding for her programs and other small business owners.

My teaching approach combines hands-on art instruction, step-by-step demonstrations, creativity, and real-world learning. As an artisan educator with more than 20 years of teaching and jewelry-making experience, I make jewelry making accessible, engaging, and meaningful for learners with different skill levels and learning styles.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I use demonstration, guided practice, visual examples, and hands-on instruction. I break complex jewelry-making techniques into manageable steps, model each skill, and give students time to practice while providing individualized support. I also incorporate discussion, reflection, affirmations, and entrepreneurship to help students connect their creative work to confidence, self-expression, and practical life skills.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a brief introduction, creative warm-up, or affirmation. I introduce the day's jewelry-making technique and demonstrate each step before students begin creating. Students then work independently or with guidance while I provide feedback and troubleshooting. Lessons conclude with students sharing their creations, reflecting on what they learned, and discussing how their skills can be applied beyond the classroom.
What Sets Me Apart
I bring together three areas that are rarely combined in one class: art, education, and entrepreneurship. I don't simply teach students how to make jewelry. I help them understand creativity as a tool for confidence, communication, wellness, and economic opportunity. My background as an educator allows me to adapt instruction to the learner rather than expecting every student to learn the same way.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for youth and adults, from beginners to more experienced makers. I work with elementary, middle, and high school students; after-school and summer programs; adult learners; community groups; aspiring entrepreneurs; and individuals interested in developing a creative skill. Lessons can be adapted for different ages, abilities, learning styles, and program goals.
