About Kai
Hi, I’m a passionate guitar teacher with over 12 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar. My journey with music began at a young age, and over the years, I’ve grown deeply connected to the emotional power of the guitar. I believe music is not just about playing the right notes—it’s about expressing who you are. That’s why I help my students connect emotionally with their instrument while mastering essential skills. I focus on building a strong foundation in technique, theory, and fretboard fluency. My lessons are structured but flexible, allowing room for creativity and exploration. I love guiding students through different styles, from classical and blues to rock, pop, and fingerstyle. No matter your level, I tailor each lesson to your personal goals and musical interests. I place a strong emphasis on ear training, improvisation, and expression, helping students find their own voice on the guitar. Whether you’re preparing for exams, writing songs, or just playing for fun, I’ll support you every step of the way. I work hard to create a warm, motivating space where students feel seen, heard, and inspired. Watching someone fall in love with music never gets old. My guitar teaching approach is all about helping students discover their unique voice through the instrument. Whether you're just starting out or have some experience, I adapt each lesson to your goals and pace. I focus on building a strong foundation in technique, chords, scales, and rhythm, while keeping the learning fun and engaging. For students interested in fingerstyle, I guide them through patterns, tone control, and independence of the thumb and fingers.
I also help learners explore harmony, expressive dynamics, and how to bring emotion into their playing. Songwriting and lyric accompaniment are part of the journey too, where I teach how to match chords with mood and tell a story through music. My lessons include practical ear training and improvisation, so students can play more freely and creatively.
I understand that some students may be learning later in life or returning after a break. I make sure they feel supported and confident, every step of the way. Every session is structured, encouraging, and rooted in a passion for music. My aim is not just to teach guitar, but to help students fall in love with playing it.
