About Rodaidh
Why learn with me? I am a qualified and experienced guitar teacher, with a BA honours degree in applied music and over 20 years of performing experience in various bands and musical projects. I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, both privately and in schools, to students of all ages and levels. I offer one-to-one and group lessons, tailored to your individual goals and interests. Many of my students have achieved merit or distinction in their grade 8 exams on guitar and bass guitar, and some have gone on to pursue music studies at university level. I also have experience and facilities for recording music, where I can help you record your own music and teach you the skills and techniques you need to produce high-quality tracks.

Learn how to play the guitar. The most expressive and fun instrument in the world? (I think so!) Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate player, I can help you achieve your musical goals, whether that is just for learning your favourite songs or more focused study to reach your potential. As your tutor, I will provide you with a personalised and focused practice that will suit your needs and interests. You can learn how to play your first chords and songs, master advanced techniques and theory, and prepare for your graded exams (if you choose to). I have a passion for teaching rock and pop music, but I can also teach you jazz, folk, and acoustic styles. I also incorporate some classical pieces, but with a modern guitar approach. You can choose to have lessons face-to-face at my studio in Edinburgh, or online via video call. I have been offering online lessons since 2020, and many of my students prefer this option for its convenience and flexibility. Details
• Please give me at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a lesson. I will do my best to reschedule it within the same week if possible. • Prebooked lessons are valid for 3 months from the date of booking. After that, they will expire and cannot be refunded or rescheduled. • I use the Trinity College of London and Rockschool series of books for teaching. I may suggest some additional books to help you with your studies, but they are optional. I can also provide you with alternative materials and exercises if you prefer.
