About Paul
I am, and always have been, a keen illustrator. I am rarely without a pencil and sketchbook! I take my inspiration from everything around me; from music and movies to people I see on the street, overheard conversations and the things my kid comes up with! I want to be an illustration tutor because I never had one. I know the idea of entering a classroom setting while doubting your own skills can be daunting, but I want to create an area where that feeling disappears. No one will be "judging" your skills under my watch! This is about having fun and exploring what is possible!

I aim to help with the following:
1. Still Life Drawing - Being able to look at objects and break them down into their composite simplified shapes. Nobody needs to become a master of this, but the essential idea behind it is very useful when coming up with your own images.
2. Rule Breaking - Taking these simplified shapes and breaking the rules and using them to create counter-intuitive objects. Why should a face always be drawn using a circle? Let's use a triangle instead! I will explain how even complicated characters and scenarios are drawn using all of these basic shapes.
3. Sketching and Planning - No matter how great your ideas are it is always great to plan them out with rough sketches or storyboards first. These can be very simple matchstick men drawings, allowing you to get positions correct before you commit yourself too deep!
4. Idea Generation - some simple tricks and help in how to come up with ideas, how to brainstorm, and how to create eye catching designs that will be perfect for Greeting Cards, Birthday Cards, T shirts, Posters, Business cards, Comics, Bedroom Murals, Family Caricatures, Personal Journals, and many more mediums.
