Hello! Brian's teaching method is to analyze your most recent online/tournament games to find your weakness(es). He will help you turn that weakness into a strength.
1. Analysis of your most recent online/tournament games (~10 minutes)
2. Ways you can improve (~10 minutes)
3. Example positions on your specific weakness (~25 minutes)
4. If he and you have extra time, he'll play a quick game with you.
As a 9-year-old active tournament competitor with a 1900 USCF rating, he offers a unique perspective that adult coaches cannot mirror. He understands exactly what it feels like to sit at a competitive tournament board right now, and he speaks the same "language" as other scholastic players. His age allows him to connect with young students as a peer and a mentor rather than a strict instructor. He make lessons highly interactive and gamified on Lichess, focusing on turning complex positional concepts into fun, memorable strategies. He doesn't just teach moves; He shows kids how to build the exact same confidence and tournament work ethic that helped him reach the 1900 level.
(Note: All lessons and communications are directly supervised and managed by my parent to ensure a safe, structured learning environment.)
