• 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I am native to the UK and therefore a native English speaker.

• 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  The Queen of England or Royal family is probably what the UK is most known for

• 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

  I think British people are very polite. I like this about the country and culture.

• 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  It is my native language, but it is also a very important language and learning it will open so many doors and change your life for the better. You will be able to meet and communicate with many more people and be able to travel the world with ease.

• 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  I would say the main problems people face is the spelling and pronunciation. It can be awkward to pronounce some words like in any language. Also, the spelling in English can also be strange as words often aren't spelt as they sound.

• 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  I actually hated learning English in school. It was my least favourite subject, and I dreaded every lesson. I never ever thought I would end up teaching it. But in my final year of school, I got a different teacher who completely changed my outlook on the language. She made it interesting and engaging and I ended up enjoying the classes and doing well. Having a good teacher who you get along and motivates with makes all the difference and can completely change your perspective.

• 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  Travelling around the world has exposed me to many people whose second language is English. This has taught me some of the common mistakes people make when learning so I can look out for them and correct them before it becomes a bad habit.

  I have studied English for many years and am a native speaker in it. Also, I am a qualified TEFL instructor so know the techniques and process of language learning. I have learnt Spanish as an adult as well so I know and understand the difficulties learners will face.
