About James
Having achieved an A* at A-Level, I want to encourage fellow Law students to achieve the same! I am 18 years of age and am a professional and hard-working student who has a passion for teaching. Currently, I am taking a gap year before progressing to study Law at the university level. I aim to encourage pupils to develop the same enthusiasm for the subject as I have myself, convincing them that Law does not have to be boring!

Initially, I will work to assess how advanced the student already is at Law, and understand their school situation. A-Level Law is very content heavy therefore, I employ a strategy of consistent recall using spaced repetition to ensure all areas are remembered.
Depending on how effective the students' Sixth Form Law lessons are, I will reinforce areas learnt within school, rather than aiming to override areas already taught by the respective teacher. Although, the top priority is to ensure that the student has a strong grasp of the relevant area and thus, Law must be taught in an accessible way, which it often isn't.
To do this, I give students scenario questions (which form the main aspect of the paper) to work on. This allows them to develop greater understanding by applying the law to real-world examples. I can ensure top grades by encouraging them to use my proven A* structure 'IDEA'. Secondly, the law paper includes evaluation questions on particular areas, to teach this I urge the student to develop evaluation points themselves (as these are more easily remembered in the exam) and provide my own critiques that can be used alongside.
My level is primarily A-Level, but I am equally willing to teach GCSE Law. My lessons range from 1-2 hours.
