About Chris
I am an LLB Law with French Law student at UCL who is fluent in English, Mandarin, and French. Alongside being a native speaker and studying a degree that requires a high degree of essay-writing ability and sophistication of expression, I achieved A* at A-level in English literature and have published several articles in a variety of magazines.
I have over 7 years of experience proof-reading university-level essays and professional documents; my mother, whose second language is English, is a university lecturer at a university with a high proportion of international students and I have often taken on her proof-reading as well as some student essays directly.

We will discuss over e-mail or telephone what your particular needs for the document are; for example, who the target audience is, what the purpose of the document is, or if it is subject to a pressing deadline. After assessing these things, you will send me the document over e-mail in a Microsoft Word format. I will proof-read and correct it, then send the document back to you over e-mail in a Microsoft Word format with corrections in red.
The substantive subject matter of the essay is no hindrance as I simply look at the grammar, phrasing, expressions, lexicon, and tone of the essay - not the content.
I am a university student myself and subject to my own commitments and deadlines but I will try my best to complete the proof-reading as efficiently as possible. The time turnover will be discussed prior to sending the document.

Details
The flat rate is £3 per page to proof-read. The increase in cost with the increase in pages reflects the extra time needed for reading and correcting. In this way, the longer the essay, the higher the price and vice versa. E.g. an essay of 6 pages would be £18 whilst an essay of 2 pages would be £6.
