About Craig
My name is Craig!
I have a background in anthropology, biology, professional education in Phys. Ed. as well as Grade 1. Now I am back at university, currently studying law. All of these experiences have set a foundation for me to cater to the individual needs of learners to deliver lessons which are catered to their personal learning styles, pace, and areas of focus.
I am known for my kindness, patience and strong relationship building. During my teaching career, I had the opportunity to work in Calgary and also Nunavut. In my off time, I enjoy all kinds of sports (especially hockey and football), video games, music, cooking, and experiencing travel and the outdoors.
I am looking forward to meeting you!

As a classroom teacher for 4 years, I have developed a strong foundation for approaching the different needs of learners. My lessons are rooted in personalized learning experiences to meet the strengths of learners so they can develop to their full potential.
Typically, my lesson begins with a student check-in. Primarily, this is to check how the student is feeling that day with regard to mood, health, energy, etc. (Only on a general level. Not anything personal).
This is followed by figuring out the student's baseline knowledge for the subject or concept we are working on, and whether they have identified any problem areas or pieces that they are not understanding.
At any level of schooling, it is important for students to have different options for understanding. Lessons are delivered in a mix of visual, auditory and hands-on materials, and are paced based upon individual needs.
Lessons end with a summary of what was covered and another check-in to see if the student has developed skills, knowledge and understanding, as well as where they may need more attention or work.
It is important to acknowledge the diverse individual needs of learners in order to maximize their engagement, understanding, and skill and knowledge development.
