About Lucy
I am a medical student with a strong academic background in Law and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring others. Throughout my studies, I have learned how important clear explanations, structure, and encouragement are in helping students succeed, and that’s exactly what I aim to provide in every lesson. I want to teach because I enjoy breaking down challenging material and helping students gain confidence in their own abilities, whether they’re preparing for exams or strengthening their understanding of a subject. I take a professional, reliable, and student-focused approach to tutoring, tailoring each session to individual needs and goals. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and motivated to achieve their full potential.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and exam-focused, aiming to make complex concepts clear, logical, and easy to understand. I use teaching techniques such as working through exam-style practice questions to reinforce understanding and build confidence. Lessons typically last 40-60 minutes, allowing enough time for explanation and consolidation without overwhelming the student. My undergraduate degree in Law provided me with excellent essay writing and problem-solving skills, which I apply to leaving and junior certificate standard exam questions. As a current graduate entry medical student, I have a solid foundation in science-based subjects and an understanding of how to learn efficiently for assessments. My lessons are tailored to secondary school and early university level students. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s age, level, and learning goals.
