About Cheryl
I am a recent graduate from an ASL interpreting program in Texas! I have experience with mostly one on one tutoring but am open to groups! I come from a family of varied levels of hearing but most everyone signs! I have been teaching friends for years and privately tutored classmates throughout college.

I prefer voice off technique with full immersion. That means once the alphabet is down, no talking! When introducing new concepts such as classifying and expansion techniques, there may be some voicing from me, but that is all. I do incorporate Deaf culture and history into lessons!

Perfect! We’ve only had one session with Shay so far but she has been wonderful. She was conscious of how we’d be using ASL while also introducing us to the basics. I would highly recommend her to anyone. ️
