About Mia
I completed A-Levels in English Literature, Media Studies and Sociology and I am knowledgeable in my subjects. I am currently in my final year, completing an English Bachelors degree at the Russell group university - Queen Mary University of London. I have recently been accepted to complete a PGCE and QTS English teacher training course with King’s College, demonstrating my desire to teach and reinforce transformative teaching. I am passionate about my subject and I have had experience with tutoring and mentoring students.
I am an Exam Invigilator and I therefore am very aware of exam practices and expectations.
Additionally, I have an enhanced DBS check and I am registered with the update service, meaning that each lesson will be a safe and encouraging learning environment.
I have a calm demeanour and the drive to help pupils achieve academic success.

My lessons are adaptable to every individual student’s needs because I am aware that different learning styles work for different students. Primarily, I will conduct one free lesson where I will determine your abilities, what you are looking to get from tutoring (i.e. what do you need to improve on?), what exam boards you use, and what grades you are currently working at vs what you would like to achieve.
Ultimately, my lessons will provide you will the tools necessary to achieve academic success, guiding you to whatever journey you endeavour to take after your studies.
I enjoy working with PowerPoint’s (not simply reading from a powerpoint), providing interactive 1:1 lessons to help you in your studies. I will ask you how you learn best and consider this when teaching you.
