About Sabina
My name is Sabina and I have 14 years of experience of teaching in a primary school. I love teaching Maths and finding ways for Maths to make sense to children. I use visuals and equipment so children understand abstract and difficult concepts in Maths. Using initial assessments, I work out what your child needs help with in Maths and ensure learning is personalised to their needs. Lots of recap and revisits are used to ensure learning is well consolidated and reasoning questions are explored to ensure children have the skills to tackle SATs questions too.

Hey, I’m Sabina! I am a Qualified Class Teacher with 14 years of experience of working in a primary school in Tower Hamlets. I have expertise in teaching Maths and have supported my pupils make accelerated progress using my unique teaching methods. Experience: • I am currently a Year 4 teacher and a middle leader and I have a wealth of experience and knowledge of teaching Maths, English and Reading. • I have 4 years of experience of teaching in KS1 and 10 years experience of teaching in KS2. I have worked across different year groups and I currently teach Year 4. • I have developed excellent behaviour management strategies and always hold high expectations of all the children that I teach and celebrate their achievements and success at each step. • I plan my lessons with clear objectives and steps to success to ensure that there is successful learning and progression. • I have experience of working with children with SEN and have many strategies to support their needs from using task planners, to widget and scaffolding their learning at each stage. Expertise/teaching method: • I have an aptitude for making learning very clear and exciting. • I always plan with the child in mind and personalise my lessons to meet their needs and address the gaps they have in the subject. • My wealth of experience has enabled me with extensive knowledge of varying subjects especially a knack for teaching Maths. Unique teaching method My lessons follow a unique lesson design enabling children to make accelerated progress as follows: • Recap learning to ensure children have good retrieval from previous lessons • Introduce new learning and go through vocabulary needed for the lesson • Clear modelling (through visual and equipment) so that pupils gain deeper and clear understanding of concepts especially in Maths and English Grammar • Have a go! – Pupils have a go with support and consolidate learning • Apply – using reasoning questions to apply new learning to a real life contexts • Assess – How much has pupil progressed within the lesson?

My offer: • Hourly lessons in Maths, English, Reading in KS1 or KS2. • Year 6 SATs preparation. • Initial FREE session and assessment to assess gaps so lessons can be personalised to meet the needs of the pupil. • Maintain contact with parents (through messages) of progress of pupil. Pricing • Small group learning (max 4 pupils in a group) £20 • 1:1 lesson £29 I believe that small group learning is very beneficial for 3 main reasons: 1) Pupils learn off each other and inspire each other by offering different ways to solve problems which supports knowledge 2) It creates an interactive and more engaging environment where pupils can talk in a small group. Talking and asking question has profound evidence for boosting learning 3) Pupils receive encouragement and praise from peers which enhances confidence
