About Rene
I specialize in conversational Afrikaans. Ons gaan lekker gesels! I am approachable, friendly, kind, and very patient. I just love chatting and listening to people. As a young girl growing up in an Afrikaans home, I had to quickly learn to speak English before starting school and know all about making silly mistakes. Some were comical while others were rather embarrassing but I graduated with honors in both languages. Even though my lessons are informal and relaxed, we will still be working towards that goal that you want to achieve.

I believe that the best way to learn a new language is by practicing it as much as possible with a native speaker. I am fully bilingual in Afrikaans & English. Our lessons will be informal, with conversations about everyday situations and any topics that might interest you. I will help you with pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, idioms & phrases even local slang! It's okay to make mistakes, together we will work through and correct them. I will tailor my classes toward what works well for you and your needs.
