About Betsy
With 14 years of experience teaching French to high school and college students, I have successfully guided over 150 learners towards fluency, academic success, and confidence in communication.
My teaching approach emphasises personalised learning, creating lessons tailored to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style.
I integrate conversation practice, interactive exercises, multimedia tools, and cultural insights to make lessons engaging, meaningful, and practical. My unique skill is breaking down complex grammar and vocabulary into clear, manageable steps, helping students grasp concepts efficiently.
I focus on creating a motivating, supportive, and interactive environment, where learners feel encouraged to participate, experiment, and achieve measurable progress. My approach to teaching French combines real-life application with steady practice. I use practical case studies like booking tickets, attending meetings, writing professional emails, and handling travel situations.
These real-world examples help students understand how French is used outside the classroom. I focus on building all four language skills equally.
After explaining grammar and vocabulary, I provide exercises where students apply what they have learnt. Problem-solving activities encourage independent thinking and improve fluency. Motivation plays a major role in my teaching style.
I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving step by step. Integrity guides my teaching process, and I maintain honesty and fairness in every class. I am flexible and customise lessons according to student goals and learning speed.
Along with French, I can also teach related subjects such as pronunciation correction, communication development, writing skills, and exam preparation strategies. My aim is to make French learning effective and enjoyable.
