I studied mathematics at Hope College and worked as a Special Education Teacher's Aid (Paraprofessional) at a Kalamazoo Public Schools middle school for over a year. I participated in and won multiple music competitions throughout my years of training. I work with students who learn at different paces and in different ways; I strive to cater to students needs and strengths - developing both so students learn to enjoy and feel confident in multiple subjects. A typical lesson would look at helping students complete homework assignments if desired, focusing on areas needing development, and spending a small amount of time on a specific area a student is interested in. I help students learn different ways to remember key information, and love helping students understand why a certain subject is necessary to learn.
