About Lucy
My name is Lucy Qin, a current student at King Edward VI High School for Girls. I finished my GCSEs this year and will be studying Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Religious Studies at A-level. Despite it being a long time since I took my 11+, I still remember how difficult it was for me going to different tutors to prepare for the exams so I would like to condense all that preparation down to the key points to make things a bit easier for future students, combining skills, techniques and secondary school insight into what your examiners are really looking for.

Lessons will concentrate on improving weaknesses of students and reinforcing their strengths with a flexible approach, taking into account different ability levels. Although this is my first time doing individual tutoring, my experiences of working with children and of the methods of teaching that my own teachers use makes me confident that I can deliver focused teaching no matter what point the student is at in working towards their secondary school entrance exams. Lessons may involve honing exam technique, explaining difficult questions and developing various problem solving skills. Of course, having taken the entrance exam for KEHS, I would also be happy to advise on private school examinations. Communication between me and my students is encouraged and parents: feel free to talk to me if you have any thoughts or specific topics you would like me to target.
