About Jordyn
My name is Jordyn Lapierre. I have taught kindergarten for 11 years. I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology and endorsements in Reading and ESL. I have worked on my district's math committee and helped design district assessments and lessons for kindergarten math. I have supported my district's ESL team in improving our ESL teaching foundation. I have spent time working with my school's Building Leadership teams to analyze data and support teachers with implementing skills and concepts into the classroom. I am driven to use a multitude of different methods to help all students succeed!

I am a teacher who uses multiple methods to teach explicit and systematic lessons in reading, math, writing, etc. A typical lesson would include me explicitly teaching the skill/concept, working with the student to grasp the skill/concept, and giving the student time to practice the skill/concept independently. My lessons are generally designated for pre-kindergarten-kindergarten students, but I have also worked with students in grades K-2. I prefer to incorporate hands-on activities, as well as, using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic models to help drive my instruction.
