Long has a strong work ethic and I highly recommend him for teaching NCEA level 2 and 3 Calculus. Long has taught many high achievers like myself how to approach problems from different perspectives. For example, he’s taught me how to view mathematics equations not only as Latex on paper but as Euclidean geometry. He has shifted my perspective on mathematics. Not to just treat math as “school work” but has to gamify it to me. He’s done this through introducing to games like Daily Integral or Graph wars, both of which I still do daily. Nevertheless, he still has flaws. Like that time when he came second in our school’s chess tournament because I was playing :)
