About Abbie
I was born in the UK but lived in New Zealand from age 9-16. I then moved back to UK, only to move independently to China in 2018. The experiences I have gained abroad have been invaluable and made me the outgoing adventurous person I am today.
I even have a 中国名字 - 苏小艾
I work in criminal justice currently and mental health is an incredibly important topic to me. I help people on a daily based to build resilience after a traumatic time in their lives, and I am a massive advocate for self help and self love. Making connections is my livelihood and I want to continue this in a teaching environment!

I am passionate about teaching and meeting people from all over the world, whether online or face to face.
I had the priviledge of living in China for 3 years, during which time I lived in Fuzhou, Xiamen and Guangzhou. I tried my best to immerse myself in the culture and language by learning some Chinese. I even have a 中国名字 - 苏小艾
I have a background in criminal justice and psychology and studied criminal psychology at the University of Southampton.
I have 3 years experience teaching English as a foreign language in the classroom, teaching children from age 2 up to 19, and I am TEFL qualified. I also have experience as a curriculum developer- during my time in Guangzhou, I helped create lesson plans and content for TEFL teachers to use within the classroom to give our students the best possibly English learning environment.
It helped me to learn the importance of making each lesson fun and engaging for students based on their personal interests, and learning style.
Getting students involved in the lesson rather than reading from a PowerPoint is incredibly important to me, and an experience I will promise every single time!
