About Ingibjörg

I'm an experienced print/online/broadcast journalist and abookworm with background in English. I hold an MA in English Literature and language, where my final assignment was a Creative Writing one, and another MA in Journalism and Mass Communcation.

I now freelance as a journalist, travel writer, translator, web content editor and social media manager and have self-published a travel book.

I also teach regularly News and Article Writing at the University of Iceland and have gotten into the habit of using Skype to teach my students from home. Have also taught Creative Writing, both onsite and as a distance learning course.

Although there's a lot of reading material out there that I find useful for my students, nothing beats the practical approach. In order to become a good writer of any sort, people need to practice, get feedback, constructive criticism and learn from their mistakes. Nobody has ever written perfect
prose in first attempt, we all have to start somewhere.

I offer hands-on tutoring, feed back/peer review, methods to switch on the creative part of the brain and the tools to stick to the writing until the end product is ready! No matter what sort of text it is, prose, poetry, script, article, it takes structure and discipline to produce a good text.

I'm very lively and can get very passionate about writing so webcam tutoring or one-on-one is best suitable for my method of teaching because I want to properly engage my students with diverse exercises. I'm a teacher, not a self-sufficiency book!
