• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  As a professional chef with experience in top brands across India, my love for cooking blossomed amidst the vibrant flavors and rich culinary traditions of my homeland. From mastering the art of blending spices to crafting exquisite dishes, I found joy in every aspect of the culinary world. My interest in teaching cooking stems from a desire to share this passion and expertise with others, empowering them to unlock their culinary creativity and explore the endless possibilities of the kitchen.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  The motivation behind my choice to teach cooking comes from a deep-seated desire to inspire and empower individuals to discover the joy and artistry of cooking. I believe that everyone has the potential to become a confident and skilled chef, and I am committed to providing the guidance and support needed to help my students realize their culinary dreams. Teaching allows me to share my knowledge and passion for cooking while making a positive impact on the lives of others.

• How does your work help society?

  Through teaching cooking, I contribute to society by empowering individuals with valuable culinary skills that promote healthy eating habits, foster creativity, and celebrate cultural diversity. By emphasizing the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers, I also support sustainability and community resilience. Additionally, culinary education and cultural exchange serve to break down barriers and promote understanding between diverse groups, creating a more inclusive and harmonious society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model for culinary education is Jamie Oliver. His passion for cooking extends beyond the kitchen, encompassing advocacy for healthier eating habits, food education, and sustainability. Oliver's efforts to promote nutritious meals in schools and his commitment to empowering individuals to cook with confidence align closely with my own values and aspirations as a chef and educator.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring diverse culinary experiences, traveling to discover new flavors and cultures, and engaging in outdoor activities like hiking. I also find relaxation and inspiration in reading and spending quality time with family and friends.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One memorable anecdote from my professional life involves a shy student who lacked confidence in the kitchen. Through encouragement and guidance, I witnessed their remarkable transformation as they gained confidence and embraced their creativity. During a cooking competition, this same student surprised everyone, including themselves, with a stunning dish that reflected their unique style and personality. It was a powerful reminder of the transformative power of encouragement and perseverance in the pursuit of culinary excellence.
