About Leon
My name is Leon and I love teaching the guitar. I try to get my students to reach their full potential by finding a balance between playing hard while working hard.
I keep a journal of all my students' progress so that we can keep track of where we are and where we are going. I give honest and constructive feedback so that leaners can move forward in their music learning journey.
I have a Contemporary Teaching Licentiate from RSL, Grade 8 Guitar and 14 years teaching experience. This does not mean that I am set in my ways as I am constantly looking for new ways to improve my teaching and finding unique angles to inspire my learners.

I teach beginners all the way up to Grade 8 level.
Songs, Scales, Chord Knowledge, Improvisation, Arpeggios, Ear training, Song Writing, Fretboard knowledge and Theory are just some of the areas we focus on.
When you start lessons with me, you will be starting with songs that focus on chord strumming and single note picking. From here on it progresses into more advanced techniques and approaches. I give comprehensive feedback and advice on how to improve and practice.
My students have the opportunity to enter for Rockschool exams. They get excellent results yearly and I have had students who have received music scholarships at top schools.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans.
So if you are aspiring to play in a rock band or play finger style acoustic, I can help you reach your goals. Oh, before I forget, I also teach the Ukulele.
