About Joe
I was born in Alicante, Spain, in 1973, and I started playing guitar at the age of 13. Soon after, I joined the Conservatoire, where I studied for a Classical Guitar degree as a teacher and instrumentalist. Apart from the instrument, the degree consisted of subjects such as Solfège, Music Theory, Harmony, Acoustics, Transposition, Music History, Music Aesthetics, Pedagogy, Chamber Music, Ensemble, and Choir. I also was a member of the Conservatoire's Choir for four years as a tenor. I finished my studies as a qualified Guitar Teacher and Instrumentalist in 2000. My degree is comparable to a British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard. While I was doing my studies at the Conservatoire, I started playing electric guitar. Initially, I was self-taught, but I also studied with two local tutors (one for Rock Guitar and the other for Jazz Guitar and Modern Harmony). Initially, I was interested in Rock and Pop music, but eventually, I broadened my repertoire to include other styles, such as Blues, Heavy, Folk, and Jazz. After finishing my studies, I taught at two music academies in Alicante and attended masterclasses with prestigious Spanish guitarists. In 2002, I moved to Madrid, where I continued studying Modern Electric Guitar and Harmony at the Musicians Institute and the "Escuela de Música Creativa." I also studied with Felix Sántos at "Academia Jazz Ateneo." In 2002, I moved to London, where my degree was recognised, and I received a "Qualified Teacher Status." I worked in London mainly as a private guitar teacher full time, although I also did some collaborations with other musicians. I also worked as a visiting teacher at a school in Ealing from 2015 to 2018. In addition to my formal education, I have also pursued further studies in music theory and performance. I have completed several online courses, including Fundamentals of Music Theory from the University of Edinburgh, Music Production from Berklee College of Music, and Jazz Improvisation with Gary Burton also from Berklee College of Music. Additionally, I have achieved several performance awards, including Electric Guitar Performance Award Grade 8 with Distinction, Acoustic Guitar Performance Award Grade 8 with Distinction, and Ukulele Performance Award Grade 5 with Distinction. Furthermore, I have completed Grades 1 to 6 in Classical Guitar with Trinity College London, all with Distinction. Currently, I am available exclusively for online lessons via Zoom, and I can teach Guitar (Electric, Acoustic, and Classical), Ukulele, and Electric Bass. I can also teach other subjects, such as Music Theory, Modern Harmony, Music Production, Home Recording, and Songwriting. During the lockdown period, I started a covers project named Joe Moreg & Friends (concealed information) I recorded about 20 covers of a variety of famous songs, collaborating remotely with musicians from different countries. I recorded guitars, lead vocals, and bass, including the mixing and mastering. I have been teaching guitar privately for more than 20 years, and I am very passionate about my job.

As a full-time online guitar teacher, I can assure you that learning remotely can be just as effective as in-person lessons. I started teaching online in 2007, and even before the pandemic, 75% of my lessons were already conducted online. In the early days I combined Skype with pre-recorded video lessons, and later on some of those videos became the first content in my YouTube channel. In fact, my most popular YouTube video, with over 565K views, was originally a private lesson for one of my students in Dublin. I work hard to ensure that every lesson is tailored to each student's musical preferences, level, and learning pace. To provide more value than ever before, I have recently started recording duets remotely with my students and uploading them to YouTube. I have already uploaded 10 of them, and I am working on several more which will be available soon. All my lessons are accompanied by comprehensive notes and materials, so there's no need to take any notes during the lesson. In addition, I create a page for each student in Google Classroom, where I will share all the lesson's notes in PDF format with corresponding MP3 audio. This way, you'll be able to listen to anything I transcribe. I normally use Guitar Pro 8, which is a great software to create great transcriptions and learning material. I can transcribe in both tablature (TAB) and standard notation, and I provide chord and scale diagrams, backing tracks, and more to make learning easier and more enjoyable. I am available to answer any questions in between lessons, so you don't have to wait until the next session to get the help you need. I use Zoom, which I believe is the best platform for online music lessons, and I'm happy to show you how to use it if needed. Regarding the contents, I'm happy to teach whatever song or subject you would like to learn, and I can also prepare you for the graded exams with Trinity College (Classical and Rock), Rockschool, ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), and the Registry of Guitar Tutors & London College of Music. I have plenty of experience preparing students for these exams and have taken them myself with great success. To learn more about my teaching style and approach, feel free to contact me or search for Joe Moreg online.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Joe has a way of breaking down complicated songs into manageable chunks, and gives great feedback. I really like how he introduces musical theory to explain what makes songs sound the way they do, but in a way which is easy to digest and relevant to the matter at hand. I would highly recommend Joe's classes finally because it's great fun and we always have a good laugh during the lessons
