About Jinan
I'm Jinan β a UCAT, Medical Interviews and maths tutor with a 99.20 ATAR and a passion for helping students make sense of challenging content. Iβve sat the UCAT twice (96th and 99th percentile) and know exactly how overwhelming it can feel. I teach with the belief that success in subjects like maths or the UCAT isnβt about raw intelligence β itβs about the right systems, strategies, and mindset. Outside of tutoring, Iβm studying a Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at the University of New England as part of the Joint Medical Program, and Iβve worked with over 50 students from Years 7β12. I focus on building confidence, pattern recognition, and exam strategy β because performing under pressure is its own skill. I bring clarity, care, and structure into every session β and Iβm here to show students that no matter where theyβre starting from, real progress is possible.

Maths & UCAT Tutoring That Makes Sense hi! I'm an experienced tutor whoβs worked with high school students across the NSW maths syllabus and the new UCAT. I've been where you are β juggling school, pressure, goals, and a ton of uncertainty. Tutoring has become one of the most meaningful parts of my week because I get to help students move past confusion, feel more confident, and actually get the content. whether you're aiming to boost your maths marks or take on the UCAT, I'll help you map out a game plan that actually fits who you are β not just who you think you have to be. π§ UCAT Tutoring (Standard & Non-Standard Pathways) thereβs a common misconception that the UCAT is testing how smart you are β itβs not. It's testing specific ways of thinking that can be sharpened. people always say βpractice makes perfectβ for the UCAT, but no one really explains what that practice should look like. Itβs not just about grinding hundreds of questions β itβs about building the habits, mindset, and techniques that help you feel more in control. the UCAT is a game of: - stamina - confidence - alertness - and strategy under pressure together, I'll help you design a routine that targets what the UCAT is actually asking from you so each session helps you feel a little sharper, calmer, and more prepared. π€ itβs not about doing what everyone else is doing β itβs about finding what works for you. My scores: 2024: 3220 / 3600 (96th percentile) 2025: 2570 / 2700 (99th percentile) - VR: 880 - DM: 790 - QR: 900 What I actually do (besides tell you to practice): - a mapped-out timeline built to suit your exam date β whether you've got months or just weeks. - section-based worksheets for each subtest, with breakdowns and examples that just stick. - official-style UCAT questions only β no random fluff - study notes and reflection tools to keep you focused before mocks and turn your mistakes into progress - intensive study options if this is your last-minute sprint (been there β weβll make it work) - optional parent consultations with clear advice on med/dent pathways (standard + non-standard) and what unis are actually realistic for you Maths (Years 7β12) My scores: - Maths Extension 2: 94 - Maths Extension 1: 97 although my scores might not show it straight away, I know the feeling of math anxiety better than most. through junior year and even into year 11, I was stuck in this loop β mediocre scores and last-minute cramming. I knew I could do better β I just didnβt know how yet. Now, as both a student and tutor, I've realized that maths isnβt about being a genius or memorizing formulas β itβs about pattern recognition, understanding question design, and knowing how to handle unfamiliar problems under pressure. That's what I teach. - collect the right resources so youβre not wasting time on what doesnβt help - review mistakes quickly to improve faster (the feedback loop is everything) - learn how maths exams are built so they start feeling familiar you can know every topic inside out β but at the end of the day, itβs your ability to perform under exam conditions that decides your mark. standardized testing doesnβt always measure your potential β but we can still learn how to play the game together. youβll have my personal contact β because support doesnβt stop when the session ends.
