About Carlota Lopes
I know that Music Theory can seem boring or very difficult, but using little tricks that I have learned over the years, it is possible to understand the most beautiful language in the world! At the same time, it is important that each performance is more than just demonstrating technique. The final goal is to be able to trust everything we've already learned, and let it all go during the performance! I base my classes on everything I've learned over the past four years of living in New York.

My methodology consists of: - Teaching tricks and mnemonics to memorize or more easily assimilate information about music theory. - Understand the importance of developing or strengthening the musical ear and musicality in general. - Build or improve the capacity for musical improvisation, inspired by the Jazz technique, to be able to apply to various styles. - Work on the ability to interpret a song, using methods commonly applied in the world of Broadway, the message and emotion of a song to the public. Moving the audience is almost as important as singing well! - Help the student to feel at ease in front of many people. I believe that each student works at their own pace, and each student has things that can be improved. My classes are always adapted specifically to the needs and / or goals of each student.
