About Ali
I’m Dr. Ali Montazeri, an Irish-registered medical doctor and CAMHS psychiatry registrar with an MSc in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy. My teaching style combines clear structure, clinical relevance, and a supportive approach that helps students feel confident with complex material. I have extensive experience working with young people and families in child mental health services, including neurodevelopmental presentations such as ADHD and ASD, and I translate this real-world understanding into practical, exam-ready learning. My approach is structured, supportive, and exam-focused, while still building real clinical understanding. I start by identifying your current level, learning style, and goals (exam preparation, assignments, OSCE-style interviewing, or deeper conceptual understanding). I then break complex topics into clear frameworks, use visual summaries and simple models, and connect theory to clinical examples so it “sticks” and feels relevant. I use active recall (short quizzes, teach-back, spaced repetition), case-based learning, and guided critical reading of key papers or textbook chapters. Each lesson ends with a concise summary, a personalised study plan, and optional practice questions or a short written task.
Typical lesson length is 60 minutes (with 90-minute sessions available for intensive revision, essay planning, or case formulation work). Sessions can be tailored as a one-off “crash” session or a weekly programme.
My background includes working clinically in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) as a psychiatry registrar, running ADHD-focused clinical work, and holding an MSc in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy alongside medical training. I’m experienced in helping students translate academic theory into clear exam answers, structured formulations, and confident clinical reasoning.
Lessons are for university and postgraduate health sciences students, including medicine, psychology, psychotherapy/counselling, nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and allied health. Topics can include psychotherapy models and skills, child development and child psychology, mental health assessment, trauma-informed care, brain sciences basics, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and ASD.
