Teaching Method and Techniques As an intervention specialist with 5 years of experience, I use a student-centered, strengths-based approach that builds confidence while addressing academic challenges. I incorporate multisensory strategies, explicit instruction, and scaffolded support to meet each learner where they are. I also use data-informed decision-making to monitor progress and adjust instruction in real time. My lessons are engaging, interactive, and tailored to students' IEP goals or individual academic targets. A Typical Lesson Plan Each lesson begins with a brief check-in to set goals and review previous content. I introduce new skills using direct instruction, model the process, and then guide students through practice using step-by-step strategies. Depending on the student’s needs, I incorporate visuals, manipulatives, or real-life examples. The lesson ends with a quick review or formative assessment and a preview of what’s next. I always aim to keep sessions positive, purposeful, and paced to the student’s comfort level.
