About Max
I am a London-based composer whose work spans concert music, theatre, television, and film. I studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music under Steve Martland, winning the William Elkin Prize. Alongside my creative work, I have taught composition at London College of Music and New London Performing Arts Centre, delivered guest lectures at West Thames College and the Academy of Contemporary Music, and mentored MA students at Leeds Conservatoire, helping the next generation of composers develop their voice and refine their craft. I love helping students refine their skills, explore creativity, and succeed in both academic and creative projects.

I provide specialist composition tuition for students of all levels, from beginners exploring creative ideas to advanced students preparing portfolios or conservatoire applications. Lessons are tailored to your goals, covering composition techniques, orchestration, harmony, and music theory. As a published composer with works performed internationally, and with experience composing for theatre, television, and film, I bring professional insight to every lesson. My aim is to help students develop their own musical voice, creative confidence, and practical understanding of music.
