About Yineen
I am an internationally awarded language teacher with a degree in Law from a top 100 university. My background in law and consulting has significantly shaped my approach to teaching Chinese, offering a unique perspective that blends analytical thinking with cultural and commercial insights. Having secured top honours in multiple international competitions across various fields (speech, debate, business, language, writing, etc.), I have dedicated the last eight years to delivering academic courses to over 300 students in one-on-one classes. At the beginning, these courses range from interview skills, IELTS and TOEFL to AS Business, International Relations, and Chinese Mandarin. However, after a few years of course delivering with my full dedication, I realised that my true passion lies in teaching Chinese, particularly for business professionals and those preparing for HSK exams and beginner learners. For me, teaching Chinese is not merely about imparting language skills but facilitating a profound cultural exchange. I delight in unveiling the hidden aspects of both ancient and modern Chinese culture, providing students with a comprehensive understanding that transcends mere vocabulary and grammar. Students show fast and steady progress through the lessons we have together, some of them even successfully managed to use Mandarin as their main business language for negotiations. I personally find teaching Mandarin enjoyable, rewarding and especially thought provoking, and I’m convinced that I will continue to teach Mandarin for the rest of my life. Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am a person of diverse interests. I enjoy music, both listening and performing, and have performed at a music festival organised by China's largest social media company. As a certified rescue scuba diver and free diver, I am deeply concerned about the ocean environment and marine ecosystems. Travelling and photography offer me a respite from routine life, fuelling my creativity as an amateur photographer and blogger. In my teaching, I aim to build meaningful connections, treating every interaction with the utmost respect and attention. Through this platform, I not only impart language and cultural knowledge but also foster genuine friendships. I approach each lesson with the mindset of treating every student as if they are the last person on earth, valuing their presence and treasuring our time together. There is no need to associate me with the stereotypical strict and serious Chinese teachers in thick glasses. In fact, I recently underwent laser surgery and no longer wear glasses! Chinese (Mandarin) is not as difficult to learn or specialise in as you might imagine. The grammar, though different, is relatively straightforward. In my classes, you will find learning Chinese to be both fun and productive. Instead of mechanically memorising vocabulary, you will learn through the structure of characters, fun facts, and stories, making the language more accessible and engaging. My personalised classes are designed to meet your specific needs and are rich in cultural and sociological information. This approach not only helps you learn the language more effectively but also equips you with the proper etiquette and humour needed to communicate with Chinese speakers. Classes can be conducted online or in-person if feasible. Additionally, I offer complimentary "language trips" to local Chinese restaurants, providing an enjoyable and immersive learning experience. I look forward to sharing both the language and the culture with you.

Perfect! The lessons are very well structured, interesting and informative. They don't simply consist of learning of the language, but incorporate cultural information, a history of the language, and fun animations. Would definitely recommend Yineen if you want to learn Mandarin.
Perfect! Yineen is a natural teacher who uses a formal model with set vocabulary lists to cover which she supplements with all kinds of cultural, social and linguistic context which make lessons full and varied. I've just begun learning, but look forward to improving my Chinese lots and lots with her as my teacher!
Perfect! Yineen has a charming personality and creates lessons that are a lot of fun and very educational. Her lessons have a good mix of reading/acting out conversations, testing vocab, and interesting facts about the history of the Chinese language and current culture of China. She also accommodates teaching needs. I would recommend her to anyone looking to learn Chinese and have fun at the same time.
