About Poorvika
I am a Year 1 BSc International Relations student at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. I have been teaching English for almost 5 years now, first as a teaching volunteer at an education trust, and then as an assistant teacher at a primary school. I have a 7/7 (A* in terms of A- levels) in Higher Level English Literature and Language, as tested by the International Baccalaureate.

My teaching method is very flexible. I like to alter my teaching style based on the comfort level and requirements of the student I am teaching. For conversational practice, I believe that patience is more important to student success than a structured plan. However, I do follow a basic structure with my lesson, beginning with greetings and personal information, and moving to more practical topics like day-to-day vocabulary or current affairs. My focus, more than on the content, is on the intonation and tone of my student. The ultimate goal of the lessons is to ensure that the student is comfortable with the language and can convey clear ideas while speaking it.
