About Syed
I am an intermittent RE PGCE student at King's College London with the final aim of becoming a higher education professor/lecturer. I have decided to study an RE PGCE to supplement the theoretical with the practical in my journey to become a better professor at university level. In short, my aim is not to simply lecture but to teach well by understanding the learning process at each stage of education. I am taking this intermission from my studies as an opportunity to teach one-to-one and in small groups.

My teaching method is most closely matched with Critical Religious Education (CRE) as I emphasise the importance of being able to think critically, logically and ultimately independently. However, philosophical thinking (viz. critical reasoning and logical argument) is not sufficient by itself and is only the first half of holistic understanding. I also emphasise the importance of mythos (story/narrative) as the spiritual second half that completes this understanding through vorstellung (picture-thinking, illustrations).
I intend to give lessons to those studying at secondary level (KS3 & GCSE), A-level and university level.
