Statement of Teaching Philosophy
My role as a teacher gives me the opportunity to share knowledge and life experiences that inspire lifelong curiosity and challenges students to maximize their full learning potential. To me, providing an education that empowers students to develop life skills to succeed in their future and contribute to positive social changes for the well-being of communities, is building a future illuminated by hope. The elements of teaching that interests me have to do with actively engaging students and helping them feel personally connected to their learning. Seeing students, who think they can’t do something, suddenly realize that all things are possible. As a lifelong learner, I am inspired to share knowledge that students may not know and help them find relevancy to apply what they learn in their personal and professional lives. If I can encounter people of different ethnicities and religions and with different philosophies, learning styles, and backgrounds, It will help me to grow as a person and as an educator.
In the classroom, I am inspired to be a superior teacher who demonstrates and engages students with the concepts. The way I propose to do this is by connecting what I am teaching to the real world, using students' interests as a way to inspire learning and presenting the information in various formats to address varied learning styles. I believe in giving students’ choices and teaching students self-monitoring skills to assess outcomes and learning milestones. I think the job of the instructor is to teach to cause a result and forever change lives. Teaching is successful only if you cause learning related to purpose
