About John
I found my career in design through the art and shop classes that I had access to in high school. I went to college for Industrial Design with very little understanding of what was in store for me. I just knew that I was creative and wanted to apply my creativity in my career path.
I avoided colleges that required portfolios because I had no idea what to show or how to show it. Now after many years of professional experience, I want to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation.
I began privately tutoring art and design as a way help young students push their skills to the next level and present their work to the best of their ability. I specialize in helping students compile their work into a portfolio, as well as present it.

I tech sketching, rendering, marker drawing, 3D modeling, CAD, 3D sculpture, graphic design and graphic art. Design and art are very broad categories and my skillset is equally broad. I specialize in visual communication and design thinking. My art and design approach focus on story telling. I constantly ask "What are you the artist/designer trying to convey to the audience?"
My lessons are for middle school to high school level students that are looking to bring their design and art skills to the next level. I specialize in helping students compile their work into a portfolio to assist in art and design focused college applicants.
