About Prerana
Hello, I am Prerana. I am an IMT1 currently working at University College London Hospitals. I sat my IMT interview in 2025 and was very grateful to receive full marks. I know how demanding and emotionally draining the IMT application process can be. I applied twice and, through reflection and focused preparation, was fortunate to improve my national ranking from 1832 to 14. This experience allows me to support candidates with empathy, particularly those who are reapplying or feeling unsure about their confidence. I have experience teaching and mentoring resident doctors and medical students, and I always aim to create a calm, kind, and professional space where people feel comfortable asking questions. Teaching approach and methodology My sessions are pragmatic, supportive, and designed to help you feel at ease speaking in an interview setting. Many people worry that they are not academic enough or that they do not have the right achievements, and I want to reassure you early on that this is not the case. We focus on structuring your answers, making your thinking clear, and helping you talk confidently about your own experiences. There is no pressure to memorise scripts or sound rehearsed. The goal is to help you come across as thoughtful, genuine, and safe. Typical lesson length Lessons are usually 60 minutes. This gives us enough time to practise together, talk through feedback, and slowly refine your answers in a way that feels encouraging rather than overwhelming. Mock interview sessions can be slightly longer if that feels helpful for you. Qualifications and experience I am an Internal Medicine Trainee who scored full marks at the IMT interview in 2025. At the time of my interview, I had not passed any parts of MRCP and did not have major research publications. I have experience teaching and mentoring medical students and resident doctors, and I genuinely enjoy helping others feel supported through what can be a stressful process. Who the lessons are for These sessions are for IMT applicants preparing for interview, especially those who feel anxious about their CV or worried they are not good enough. They are also suitable for doctors who want kind guidance, clear structure, and a boost in confidence. All sessions are delivered one to one online via Zoom
