Lesson 1: Essay Foundations
Introduction to essay structure (thesis, body paragraphs, conclusion)
Breakdown of each section with examples from me
Student practice after each step
Feedback and correction on student attempts
Lesson 2: Completion of Essay Structure
Finish remaining essay components
Continued step-by-step student practice
Refinement of structure, clarity, and argument development
Lesson 3: Full Guided Essay (New Text)
Students complete a full essay using a new prompt/text
Work is submitted in stages (thesis, paragraph 1, paragraph 2, etc.)
I provide feedback after each stage within set timeframes
Lesson 4: Completion + Editing
Finish essay from Lesson 3
Focus on improving argument depth, transitions, and clarity
Final detailed feedback and revision guidance
Extended Practice (Optional)
If the student wants further improvement, we repeat the process with a new text, but with less guidance, encouraging more independent writing and critical thinking.
