About Samuel
Hi I'm Sam! I'm a final year medical student at Imperial College London, and have a degree in medical sciences.
I'm fascinated with how the world around us works, and I love sharing that fascination with people. As a result I've always loved both teaching and learning, and am a firm believer that everyone can understand something so long as it's taught in a way that can be understood.
I'm taking a year away from my medical studies for health reasons, so am really looking forward to using this year as an opportunity to get some experience teaching/tutoring.

I think all science is fascinating and believe that even "difficult concepts" can be understood by anyone so long as it's taught well. I'm also convinced that a good conceptual understanding of a topic is the most important part of learning, and all the other bits of learning easily fall into place after that.
With that in mind I love working 1-2-1 with students to help them really understand the core concepts behind the topics they want help with, and impart a fascination of the way the world around us works in the process.
Whilst I like to focus on this conceptual understanding in sessions, I'm big on studying efficiently. We get taught study skills by experts at medical school, and I will definitely pass these on to my students to help them with all the memorisation that goes into exams so they can revise efficiently too.
I'm fairly new to tutoring. I've had one formal A-level student before and done bits and pieces elsewhere along with attending educational training modules at medical school. I have a passion for teaching, so I'm looking to up my experience through tutoring.
