About Chyngyz
I think I am a very academically oriented person :) I finished my Bachelor's in Psychological Science in Padova University, Italy, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology in Edinburgh University, focusing on neuropsycholinguistics. I have been working as a tutor for the last five years, gained thousands of hours of teaching experience, and grew to love the process very much! My academic interests include neuroscience, research, reading, writing (mostly non-fiction), philosophy, psychology, history, culturology, and biology.
In my free time, I also go to the gym, go jogging, practice MMA, travel, and go to debate clubs. But languages are one of my biggest fascinations! Not only do I tutor in three languages, I also speak four and I am actively learning my fifth ;) I intend to do research in neurolinguistics and I enjoy working on my writing daily.
I also have a rich intercultural experience. I was born and raised in Kyrgyzstan, but much of the last 10 years I have lived abroad in China, Italy, Austria, Germany, and soon now the UK. I had students from all across the globe: Europe and Asia, South and Central America, the US, Africa, etc.
As a tutor, I am friendly, supportive, reliable, and professional. I think I am also good at explaining :) My goal is to create lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and steadily improving. Whether you are preparing for IELTS or TOEFL, applying to university, improving academic English, or simply trying to become more confident in English, I will help you build a clear and realistic path toward your goals!

I offer personalized English, IELTS, and TOEFL lessons focused on both general language improvement and exam-specific strategies. My teaching combines structured materials, official-style practice tests, textbooks, authentic English content, and individual feedback. I help students improve grammar, vocabulary, speaking fluency, writing structure, listening comprehension, reading strategies, and time management.
A typical lesson includes a short warm-up, review/Q&A, targeted practice, detailed feedback, and homework adapted to the student’s goals. I commonly offer flipped-lesson structure so as to maximise students' speaking time during lessons and minimise passive video, audio, and text material study—something that can often be done without a tutor. For exam preparation, I also help with understanding the format, avoiding common mistakes, and building confidence through regular timed practice.
I have five years of experience teaching both children and adults. My students have achieved TOEFL scores such as 98, 100, 105, and 114, and I have helped some learners progress from elementary all the way to C1/C2 and exam success. I personally scored 116/120 on TOEFL iBT and 8.5/9 on IELTS Academic, and I hold a TEFL/TESOL certificate with excellence.
What sets me apart is my friendly, supportive, reliable, and conscientious teaching style. As a native Russian and Kyrgyz speaker, I can explain difficult points clearly to Russian-speaking students. I also speak Intermediate Mandarin Chinese (HSK 5) and I am actively learning German—in other words I understand what struggles language learners face very well. This, as well as my cognitive neuropsychology and linguistics background make me very competent in languages as such, which helps me adapt to all kinds of students.
My lessons are suitable for teenagers, including school students, adults, university applicants, professionals, and anyone preparing for IELTS, TOEFL, academic English, or general English improvement. I work with learners from beginners to advanced levels and adapt lessons to each student’s goals, timeline, and current ability.
