I started teaching languages at the same time as starting secondary school: first English, then Arabic, Hebrew, and others, including Hungarian, my mother tongue. Over more than two decades, I have taught children, young and older adults. They were in very different stages on their learning journey, and ranged from absolute beginners to very advanced learners.
I tailor my lessons to the student's interests, goals, and motivations. Before starting the course, I meet each prospective student for a free consultation, where we discuss all the factors that might influence a study plan for them.
After the initial meeting, I propose a study plan which we finalize together before embarking on it.

I met Krisztina more than 20 years ago, when I was a postdoc in the US and she was a PhD student. She helped me read through Arabic philosophical texts from the Middle Ages. She understood the (to me) nearly incomprehensible texts with ease and explained them to me with endless patience.. She is conscientious, knowledgeable, nice--the perfect tutor.
Enthusiastic and patient. Very, very knowledgeable! My Arabic has improved really fast.
Traveling to Egypt for work time to time, I wanted to be able to read newspapers and follow news on radio and TV. While at home, I took a lesson every week for six months with Krisztina, followed her intensive study plan between the lessons. When I returned to Egypt, I could understand most of the news. Shukran, Krisztina!
Great, extremely knowledgeable, and very thorough teacher! She gave me the exact help I needed. I had studied modern literary Arabic before but had to read medieval Arabic historical sources for my research. Over six months, we read relevant excerpts two to three times a week together. After that, I was ready to continue on my own.

My average rate for a Hungarian lesson is £30 but it can vary depending on your needs. If you need specialized lessons, I will ask for more; we will agree on this following the initial consultation. If you require lessons for a young child, who is unlikely to fully benefit from a 60-minute lesson, I will consider shorter lessons for a lower price. Traveling to your place might incur a (usually very small) further charge.
